Extra Life is doing BIG things in 2023

It’s no secret that 2022 was a challenging year, especially for some kids and their families within our community – and time and again, Extra Life and the gaming community proved to be a beacon of hope at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. Extra Life is a fundraising program of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals®. The Extra Life community fundraises year-round by playing games and having fun, all to Change Kids’ Health to Change the Future. Donations go to the gamers’ member hospital of choice to fund critical life-saving treatments and healthcare services, along with innovative research, vital pediatric medical equipment, and child life services.

For 2022 in Pittsburgh alone, more than 200 Extra Lifers raised over $95,000 – finding cures, delivering care, and providing strength and comfort. We would like to send a HUGE thank you to all the gamers for making this possible! Through working together, we ensure the kids in our region have access to care, healthier outcomes, and an opportunity to thrive.

Extra Life in Pittsburgh is not stopping now – we have big plans to make 2023 the best year yet! We are thrilled to welcome back the longest standing Extra Life sponsor, Schell Games for another year of supporting our gamers and patients. And new this year, we’re excited to welcome a new sponsor, Voodoo Brewing Co., who is selling a special Extra Life cocktail with a portion of proceeds coming back to UPMC Children’s Hospital through the Extra Life program.
