Pittsburgh RE/MAX Agent Gives Back

Throughout the year, RE/MAX agents and offices across the United States raise funds from the Miracle Home Program, which allows agents to make donations and send honor cards to clients letting them know that they have made a donation in their name.

For one Pittsburgh RE/MAX agent, Deb Reddick, the contribution to the Miracle Home Program is more than just a donation to an amazing cause – it’s personal.

At 11 months old, Deb’s granddaughter, Lennox Hope Reddick, was on her way to taking her first steps – one of the most exciting milestones for a toddler and their families! It was October 28, 2019 when Lennox suddenly stopped standing or moving her legs. Her parents took her to the Emergency Department at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and were given heartbreaking news later that same night. An MRI showed that Lennox had a tumor that had grown into her spine and was pushing on her spinal cord. Emergency chemotherapy and steroids were administered. After several biopsies and scans over the days that followed, Lennox was diagnosed with stage 4 Neuroblastoma; not only did Lennox have a solid tumor, it had spread into her bone marrow.

Lennox championed through six rounds of chemotherapy, along with all the pokes, procedures, and scans that come with treatment of pediatric cancer. Post-chemo scans and a bone marrow biopsy in February 2020 showed no evidence of disease! The Reddick family could not be more grateful to the oncology team and others who treated their daughter at UPMC Children’s. The doctors, nurses and staff, including child life, provided every comfort and support system to Lennox, her parents, and her older brother throughout the process. It is because of them that sweet, strong Lennox is now walking, reaching other amazing milestones, and providing HOPE to other families.
